Doing Rude Things – invite

This is my second book-related post this week! For those of you with long memories, you may remember that way back in 1992 Pamela Green wrote the foreword to David McGillivray’s book Doing Rude Things: The History of the British Sex Film, 1957-81. It was the first serious study of British soft porn, and it was highly influential. The BBC even turned it into a light-hearted documentary, presented by Angus Deayton.

To promote the publication, an event was held at the Scala cinema in Kings Cross. On the day Pamela Green, accompanied by Douglas Webb, was reunited with Harrison Marks and Stanley Long introduced the film Nudes of the World. I remember it if as it were yesterday. 25 years later I’m proud to announce I’m publishing a vastly expanded and updated anniversary edition in hardback. To celebrate we are holding an event at the Blue Posts in London. If you are in town come and say hello. Hope to see you there.

If you can’t make the event, Doing Rude Things is available on Amazon. Check out our online shop to see our other publications.
