I’m excited to announce that the Kickstarter project I’m involved in launches on 12th November. Pin-up Parade is a limited-edition three-volume box set that offers an in-depth look at the work of Arthur Ferrier.
Arthur Ferrier was a Scottish illustrator based in London, famed for his pin-up cartoons and comic strips. The three-volume set includes cartoons from Blighty magazine, news clippings, posters, magazine covers, rare original art, and an insightful introduction by Rian Hughes. Additionally, several articles by Ferrier provide valuable insights into his creative process, offering a treasure trove of inspiration for any budding illustrators out there.
In 1941, Arthur Ferrier teamed up with the figure photographer Horace Roye, a name no doubt familiar to regular readers of this blog, in the book Lovelies.
If you’re interested in snagging an original piece of Ferrier’s artwork or scoring an early bird discount, I’d recommend signing up here to be notified when we launch.
And to whet your appetite, here are three of Ferrier’s cartoons from Blighty:
